i think the thing i love the most about ‘seven on sunday’ is that it’s nice to take a minute on sunday (or tuesday in this case, haha) to reflect on the week that’s passed. it’s a few moments for gratitude, a different perspective on what may have felt like a long week full of struggles and joys — to look at it as a whole and choose a few moments that stood out. it’s cool to me that most of what feels remarkable is nothing that i could have foreseen.
for example, this week — the inauguration of a new president, and saying goodbye to one that i am incredibly proud of, brought up a lot of things for me. i couldn’t have prepared myself for how i felt on the day trump was inaugurated, but moreso, i could have never prepared myself for how powerful that following day was. going to dc with one of my very closest friends, and marching with hundreds of thousands of women in a peaceful protest, standing up for the things that matter to so many. i’ll never forget the energy and the love and the unity that i felt in those few incredible hours. hearing the harmony of so many diverse voices and seeing so many unique faces saying “no hate, no fear, everyone is welcome here” and “this is what america looks like” were my two favorite things to witness. i came away feeling hopeful, awake, and proud to live in this country. love always wins. enjoy your week, everyone!
