hello friends, new + old! formerly “ali caudill photography” here — i have refreshed + rebranded and am utilizing this space and energy to focus on the photography that i’m truly passionate about. ali caudill is actually my five-year outdated maiden name it was still a little hard to let go of since it was my name for the first 20+ years of my life, and hung with me for 7 years in business. :) i have so much gratitude for all of it. every experience, every person i met + connected with, every family and couple that trusted me with precious slices of their lives — to preserve and be present to. i love my job.
with that being said, it was time for a refresh. i took a hiatus of sorts after the birth of our third baby. our lives are so FULL in the best way i could ever imagine. it was so perfect because it really forced me to look at what i want to focus my time and energy on, since there is very little of it left to spare — nurturing a seven year old, an almost-three year old, and a new baby… my creative time is a treasure and i want to use it wisely.
i gave myself lots of space and silence. i deleted my personal facebook page and let my mind rest a bit. i paid attention to where my thoughts went when they wandered… what i focused on, what i missed, what i love. i picked up my camera when i was inspired by something and i took a look at the body of work i’ve created over the last seven years. i made a mental note of what still gave me chills and what i still yearned to be a part of.
freebird imagery was born from those thoughts — from that time + space, and straight from my heart. i am now only offering documentary-style family sessions as well as intimate + heartfelt wedding celebrations. to begin with families, this will look a bit different from what i’ve done in the past. it’s still me behind my camera and the way i shoot isn’t changing but the way the sessions are structured will take on a new energy. they will be based around an activity that you enjoy with your family. if you look back at the past year of your life, i’d like you to ask yourself “what did we have the most fun doing? when did we feel like we were really bonding as a family? what makes us feel close, connected, joyful?” and then i’d want to you to do that thing, and invite me along. :) whether it’s in your home, or a favorite place — these sessions are uniquely yours.
for weddings, i’m booked for 2016 and truly excited about all of the incredible couples i get to work with this year! in 2017, i will focus on intimate + unique marriage celebrations, elopements, and destination weddings. i’ll be sharing more about my vision for all of that later on in the year…
